Palace have previously gone with a halved home design, in 2013-14, but it’s still quite rare.

The change kit uses the familiar sash but in sky blue, which references the amateur Crystal Palace formed in 1861, whose lineage the modern club claims.

While the set of kits is not interchangeable in the traditional sense, the socks have been switched when required – though one wonders if black might have worn better with the change strip and blue with the third.

The fourth kit was worn against Everton in the FA Cup in January. Only 1,000 replicas were sold, with proceeds going towards supporting and expanding the Palace for Life Foundation’s impactful community initiatives for young South Londoners

Initially, only two goalkeeper colours were provided but purple proved a troublesome choice when worn alongside the home kit.
